Employee Onboarding
Welcome to Native Movement! We are so happy that you have joined us as a co-conspirator in the movement towards an indigenized and decolonized future. This page will serve as a guide to help you understand our organization, our work and our vision. There may be additional onboarding materials and tools based on your position, so please communicate with your supervisor.

1
Getting Started
If you haven't yet, please reach out to Native Movement Human Resources to ensure that you have all of the documentation in place for you to begin working. You can contact our HR Compliance and Payroll Manager at sarah@nativemovement.org.
You should receive two document packages containing the following:
Package one: Employment Agreement and Job description
Package two: Onboarding paperwork (I-9 form and Identification, W-4 form, Emergency Contact Form, Direct Deposit Form). You will be able to upload your IDs and your voided check/bank account verification in these packets.
Review our Healthcare Benefits information and application forms (for NM staff working 30 hours or more).
Review our Employee Handbook. You can access the handbook and required forms on this website.
Make sure to complete the Handbook Receipt and Acceptance Form, the Harassment Policy Receipt and Acceptance Form, and the Confidentiality Agreement.
Your supervisor will go over your position expectations, organization structure, and facilitate initial connections with staff and community partners.

Additional things you may need
Talk to your supervisor about what you may need in your workspace:
Laptop
Desk/chair*
Access to specific software**, for example:
Adobe Creative Suite
QuickBooks
DocuSign
Any others you may need
*Staff are generally provided with a home setup OR a workspace in the office, but not both. Talk to your supervisor about your workspace needs.
**Access to some of these software may require you to complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement in cases where you may come in contact with confidential or personnel records

5
Planning your work
Our staff generally likes to plan their work to ensure that we are thinking strategically. For this reason, we use workplans. Workplans break down time-defined goals into tangible tasks or benchmarks to help us keep track of our progress. The timeframe for workplans can vary depending on your preferences and the needs of your team. These can and should be reviewed and adapted together with your supervisor.
Please connect with your supervisor to discuss your workplan and to receive a workplan template

Phew! You made it down the list! It's definitely a lot, but hopefully these steps have helped you understand a bit more about our organization. Also, if you notice anything in your onboarding that would be helpful to include in this page for future new hires, please let the Administrative Director know!
If you have any questions, please reach out to your supervisor or any of the directors. We are so happy that you are here!
